Tamir Hersonskey, MD, earned his medical degree at the Technion Israel Institute of Technology Faculty of Medicine in Haifa. He was the Chief Resident at the University of Illinois at Chicago in the Department of Neurological Surgery and completed his fellowship in epilepsy at the University of Washington at Seattle. Brain mapping, complex intracranial surgery, minimally invasive treatment of spinal diseases, and complex spine surgery, are some of the procedures he performs. His clinical interests include aneurysms, dural arteriovenous malformation, epilepsy, arteriovenous malformation, brain injury, brain tumors, minimally invasive surgery and spine trauma.
Dr. Hersonskey is board certified in neurosurgery. He serves as the Medical Director of Neurosurgery at Presence Saint Joseph Medical Center in Joliet. He is also an Assistant Professor at the University of Illinois at Chicago. He has published research articles in Surgical Neurology and British Journal of Neurosurgery. He is a member of the American Association of Neurological Surgeons.
